Artesanía Nazarí has been selected by INTBAU Spain as master craftspeople of the month for October 2023.
Ramón Rubio and Julio Jiménez are the master yesaires who run Artesanía Nazarí’s workshop in Granada. They are specialized in the design and production of new plaster pieces – for which they reproduce using handmade fired plaster original elements of different monumental ensembles – as well as in the restoration of various elements of the Spanish Cultural Heritage.
The creation of their pieces involves a slow and meticulous finishing process, completely manual, where they apply polychromies and patinas obtained from natural elements (earth from the region or selected pigments) and noble materials such as gold leaf.
