Philippe Rotthier European Architecture Prize

The call for entries for the new edition of the Philippe Rotthier European Architecture Prize is open until April 30, 2024. The theme of this year’s edition is “Vernacular Architecture”. The award will distribute up to 40,000 euros in prizes.

This year’s edition is being organized by La Table Ronde de l’Architecture.

Projects which make maximum possible use of local materials, as well as traditional building methods and techniques, are being sought. Also those that take into consideration local architecture and that are well integrated into their built and natural environments.

Adam Architecture Travel Scholarship

Applications are now open for the travel scholarship offered by ADAM Architecture.The scholarship offers students or recent graduates the opportunity to travel and research an architectural topic of their choice.

The scholarship, endowed with £2,000, is intended to support original research in architecture, architectural technology and urban design. The deadline for applications is April 19, 2024.

The King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts “Building Crafts Program”

Applications are now open for the new edition of The King’s Foundation Building Crafts Program, which will be mostly taught at Dumfries House.

The 8-month program will run from summer 2024 to spring 2025. The deadline for applications is Monday, April 12.

Traditional techniques with wood: Mudejar Carpentry

This experimental workshop, organized by the Centro de Investigación de Arquitectura Tradicional (CIAT), will be held over three days during the months of March, April and May.

Timbrel vault workshop

This workshop, organized by the Centro Educativo para la Regeneración de la Construcción Artesanal (CERCAA), will take place in Bergamo, Italy, from June 18 to 22, 2024. The workshop will be delivered by master builder Salvador Gomis and the expert in timbrel vaults Wesam Al Asali.

The course will be delivered by Anna Castilla, a specialist in traditional finishes. It will take place from April 15 to 25, 2024.

Clay will be studied as a construction material, the preparation of mortars will be carried out and various application techniques will be taught.

14th International Conference on Structural Analysis of Heritage Structures – SAHC 2025

The conference will take place from 15 to 17 September 2025 in Lausanne (Switzerland). Since 1995 the conferences organized by the SAHC have been recognized as one of the main international events focused on the conservation of heritage structures. The SAHC conferences are an excellent opportunity for scientific exchange, dissemination and networking in this field.

Architectura Picta International Festival

From October 11 to 13, 2024 the “Architectura Picta International Festival” will take place in Rome.The Festival celebrates the art of illusory architecture and architectural perspectives. The program includes three intensive days of hands-on practice with professionals of decorative painting and scholars of architectural drawing and perspective.

The event is organized in collaboration with INTBAU Italy.
