Resolution of the 2018 Training Apprenticeship with Fátima Quesada

In the 2019 edition of the Richard H. Driehaus Building Arts Awards, the jury determined that it was Fátima Quesada de la Cuesta who received the apprenticeship for the training of an apprentice who could learn and continue his trade.

The coordination team of the Awards, with the guidance and advice of the ceramist master, studied the applications submitted and selected the Granada ceramist Noelia García Hernández.

Noelia García Hernández has been selected, among the 15 candidates presented, whose interest and motivation made them well deserving of this apprenticeship, as recipient of the training grant of the Richard H. Driehaus Building Arts Awards.

For a year, you will learn with ceramist master Fátima Quesada in her tile workshop, Alizares Azulejos, in la Alpujarra, Granada.

The objective of these Awards is to recover the building arts as they are responsible for the conservation of our Heritage and fundamental for new traditional constructions.

Unfortunately, these professions are on the verge of extinction and that is why the Richard H. Driehaus decided to create these awards to promote the continuity of the work of those masters and transmit it to the new generations, with the help of an annual grant of 8,000 euros.
