Miguel Sobrino González has been selected by INTBAU Spain as master craftsperson of the month for October 2021.
Miguel Sobrino is a specialist in the traditional methods of stone carving based on direct carving, both for stonemasonry and sculpture. His work is based exclusively on drawing and the use of profiles, contours and templates, with which he carries out the entire stone carving process. He also masters the stereotomy of the stone and always uses manual tools, such as the hand tracer, the mallet, the bull point chisel, the chisel or the tooth chisel as well as templates and bebels.
He combines his stonemasonry work with his work as a teacher in different universities, as well as with multiple articles and studies on art and sculpture that he publishes regularly.
