This grant is part of the initiatives that INTBAU Spain and the Traditional Building Cultures Foundation are developing to enhance the value of traditional architecture and traditional building trades. It has been organized with the support of the Instituto de Patrimonio Cultural de España (Spanish Cultural Heritage Institute).
The duration of the training stage will be 8 months, between February and September 2024. The grantee will enjoy financial support during this period, starting from the beginning of the mentoring process, of €8,000. The total or partial receipt of this grant will always be subject to the fulfillment of the training objectives set at the beginning of the collaboration.
In addition, the master will also receive financial support, both for the development of this training and to assume various expenses that may arise from it.

Luis Prieto’s workshop is located in the center of Madrid. He is specialized in scagliola works and in the realization of plaster and lime finishes, using self-made materials and natural pigments.
Luis Prieto started in the trade thanks to his family and completed his training with studies in painting, drawing, scagliola, colorimetry and manufacture of colors and paints throughout Europe and through numerous trips to several continents.
In 2019 Luis was awarded the Richard H. Driehaus Building Arts Award in the category of traditional finishes and other traditional building work.
