The jury, made up of prestigious national and international architects, has decided to award this year the Spanish architect\u00a0<strong>Sergi Bastidas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Sergi Bastidas has worked chiefly in Mallorca, in both new building and renovation, seeking always to use traditional materials and techniques. He also has a particular interest in integrating into his buildings the identity of the place to which they belong. The buildings he designs seem to merge with their setting thanks to his attention to local terrain, climate, materials and building traditions, the ways in which the place has been used traditionally and its vegetation and landscape. Driehaus Heritage Preservation Medal<\/h3>\n<h2>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Ballester will receive the award at the Manzano Prize ceremony<\/h2><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_3  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\"><p>The third Heritage Preservation Medal was awarded to <strong>Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda Ballester<\/strong> in recognition of a career in which he has excelled in promoting and applying a broad and inclusive notion of heritage, without detaching it from land and landscape, natural and economic resources or traditional culture and knowledge.
