Driehaus. His passion for our heritage led him to create this competition to help recover traditional architecture in Spanish towns. Additionally, the competition promotes the work of local construction artisans and workers. In the first phase, several city councils submitted their proposals for rehabilitation or renovation of architectural spaces. The locations selected were <strong>Guadix in Granada, Olite in Navarra and B\u00e9jar in Salamanca.<\/strong><\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_row et_pb_row_1  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_1_3 et_pb_column et_pb_column_1  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_image et_pb_image_0\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.driehauscompetition.com\/en\/locations\/guadix\/\"><span class=\"et_pb_image_wrap \"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/intbauspain.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/G3.3-El-\u00e1mbito-de-actuaci\u00f3n-visto-desde-el-barrio-de-las-cuevas-suroeste-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/><\/span><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_2_3 et_pb_column et_pb_column_2  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et-last-child et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_2  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">The initiative proposed by the Council of Guadix, in Granada, seeks to recover and improve the architectural ensemble crowning the city, the old Alcazaba (Citadel), currently decayed. The plan seeks to revitalize the axis composed by the R\u00faa Villavieja, the Plaza del Fosal, the Plaza de la Rueda and its surroundings. This would recover the former relevance and the attraction of the area and would bring back the tourists.<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_row et_pb_row_3  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_1_3 et_pb_column et_pb_column_5  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_image et_pb_image_2\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.driehauscompetition.com\/en\/locations\/bejar\/\"><span class=\"et_pb_image_wrap \"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/intbauspain.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/B\u00e9jar-Portada-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\" \/><\/span><\/a>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_2_3 et_pb_column et_pb_column_6  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et-last-child et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_4  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">In the case of B\u00e9jar, in Salamanca, the project attracted the interest of the jury for its objective to revitalize the area of La Antigua, which is suffering the effects of depopulation. This is the sad truth that many historic sites in our country are currently suffering. The urban intervention would cover the area around the Church of Santa Mar\u00eda, the Jewish Museum and several buildings dating back to the heyday of the local textile industry, currently derelict. The proposal seeks to redesign public spaces, making them attractive for the locals, in order to attract new occupants.<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<\/div><div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_row et_pb_row_4  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et_block_row\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_d4_element et_pb_column_4_4 et_pb_column et_pb_column_7  et_pb_css_mix_blend_mode et-last-child et_block_column\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_module et_d4_element et_pb_text et_pb_text_5  et_pb_text_align_left et_pb_bg_layout_light\">\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"et_pb_text_inner\">he proposals were carefully analyzed by a jury composed by representative from the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Culture, the Higher Council of Architects of Spain, INTBAU and the Rafael Manzano Prize.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.driehauscompetition.com\/en\/phase-two\/\">Phase Two of the Competition<\/a> is called by the Ministry of Public Works, and will conclude by 20th March.
